When Wonderbly is genuinely the right choice
We would rather say this plainly than pretend otherwise. Wonderbly has sold more than eleven million books across some 140 countries, and Penguin Random House acquired the company in 2025 — this is not a fly-by-night operation, and the books are lovely objects. Buy one when the story is not the point: a christening, a first birthday, a grandparent who wants something to hand over. A file cannot be unwrapped, and a printed book still sits on the shelf in fifteen years. If that is what you are shopping for, close this tab and go and buy the book.
When a printed book is the wrong tool
The mismatch shows up on ordinary Tuesdays. A personalized book costs around thirty-five dollars and arrives days later, and then it is one story — the same one, every night, until your child has it memorised.
