What's New in ZTales: Stories That Read Themselves, Keepsake Books & More
This was a big week at ZTales. Here's everything new at bedtime.
Stories that read themselves
Pick narration when you create a story and it now begins reading aloud the moment the cover illustration appears. No buttons, no fiddling: the lullaby starts while the story is still being written, then the storyteller's voice joins in and the music dips politely beneath it. Hands free, lights low.
A warmer storyteller voice
The narrator has been re-trained for bedtime: slower, softer, with a gentle smile in the voice that eases quieter toward the last sentence, like the room is dimming on cue. If you narrated a story before this week, make a new one and hear the difference.
Keep the story forever
Plus families can now download any story as a beautiful PDF book: cover, dedication, every illustration, print-ready. Email it to grandma, tuck it in a keepsake box, or print it for the bookshelf. The book even matches how you read: text over the artwork or beneath it, your choice.
Interactive stories got faster
In choose-your-path stories, both possible branches are now written quietly while your child is still deciding, so when they pick, the page turns almost instantly. The choice moment itself is prettier too: the question now floats over the last illustrated moment of the story.
A hundred small touches
Read-along highlighting that glows sentence by sentence. Music and voice volume sliders. A tap-able moon on the loading screen (try it: it sparkles), sleepy animal facts while you wait, and a little celebration the first time you finish a story each night. The End page now replays every illustration from the story as a gentle slideshow.
And a featured tale on the homepage
Every night we spotlight one story on the front page so new families can see the magic before typing a single word. Yours could be next. Share a story you love and it might get featured.
Every one of these came from feedback: from parents, kids, and testers who told us what felt clunky and what felt like magic. Keep it coming: there's a Feedback button in the menu, and it lands directly with the people who build this.
